Maybe it's the time of year? It's been well over a month since my last post. No excuses really, just life in general, work, home, family. Still quietly playing chess.

I'm currently shown in 4th place in the BC Correspondence Championship at ICCF. The illusion is temporary. I'm still very much outclassed by the majority of the competition in this event however, I was able to get a pair of wins against an opponent who let his flag fall in our games.

I was able to spot the tactic with the Black pieces in this position.




White has just played 12. Ba3 leaving the d-pawn pinned to the King by the Black Bishop at a5. 12...Qxe3+ is the winning move.
