Pascal is a Potzer!

"Pascal is a potzer, he should stick to Anand"

Apparently that was what Philadelphia Masterminds Manager FM Michael Shahade [pictured above] had to say after the former Canadian Champ kicked off the USCL season with a stunning loss to IM Richard Costigan. Follow this link to see a game replay. Despite the loss, Pascal's new team [he played with Baltimore last seaon] the New York Knights defeated Philadelphia by a 2.5 to 1.5 margin.

Elsewhere, Clint Ballard's expansion Seattle Sluggers got their season off to a perfect start with a 4 game sweep of the Tennessee Tempo. Follow Ballard's game commentary here. The match was played last Monday night. Monday night chess is a new feature for the leaugue this year, the rest of the weekly matches go on Thursday nights.

All the games move to Wednesday night next week because of the long weekend across North America. Seattle takes on Carolina and Pascal faces his former team mates as Baltimore meets New York.

All-in-all, an exciting start to the USCL season. Stay tuned to see if the trash-talk continues!
